Introducing Art into Schools: Infinite Love Dance Program

JUEDAI has since its inception been committed to dance art heritage and promotion. In addition to holding a number of exhibition and arts activities, it hopes to contribute to the community through dance. In 2010, JUEDAI launched the Introducing Art into Schools: Infinite Love Dance Program, which includes one hour a week of public welfare dance classes intended to assist disadvantaged children through their rhythm and limb development. It has been seven years since its implementation. The program has received sponsorship from government units and private foundations. The current beneficiary schools include: Taipei Municipal Wuchang Junior High School, Taipei Municipal Shuang Yuan Junior High School, Taipei Municipal Xin Ming Junior High School, Taipei Municipal Bailing High School (Junior High School), Jingmei Junior High School, Taipei Municipal Ying-Qiao Junior High School, Taipei Municipal Changan Junior High School, New Taipei Municipal San Min High School (Junior High School), New Taipei Municipal Zhanghe Junior High School, New Taipei Municipal Sanhe Junior High School, New Taipei Municipal Ziqiang Junior High School, Taipei Municipal Ming Chih Junior High School, and other special education classes. The special education students who have received help over the years exceed 500. The CJDT continues to offer care to disadvantaged children through action and accompany them when participating in campus activities, special talent contests, etc., hoping to draw more inspiration in the pursuit of happiness.
JUEDAI believes everyone is capable of dancing freely and happily, and it has high hopes for the continual promotion and extension of the activity, so as to enable more vulnerable groups to achieve happy learning and growth through dance, thereby creating a long-lasting dance public welfare teaching program and realizing the ideals of deep plowing arts education and delivering love through dance.
The dance classes lead to substantial benefits. In addition to improving participants’ limb coordination, dance classes also help them focus, learn to communicate and express ideas, sharpen their memory, boost their self-confidence, express negative emotions, work as a team and interact with others. What JUEDAI is doing for these children is to, targeting special education needs, apply dance arts education for people in need of help whenever appropriate. Over the years, the CJDT’s teachers and the children from special education classes have grown increasingly acquainted with each other and have built close bonds. The children have become more cheerful and willing to accept strangers and new things, better able to restrain their emotions, not lose their temper easily, and take the initiative from time to time. Seeing the results, we are simply stricken how a small seed can germinate infinite love and glamor.

We believe that by spreading hope, this society will be a better place. Art will become a part of daily life filled with love, while vulnerable groups too can share the joy and vitality.
